The practice registers large numbers of students every year and we work closely with Cardiff University to ensure that students are able to see a doctor locally whilst they are studying.

The City Surgery has been designated as the main GP Practice for students living in a number of areas and we will attend the residences to register you on the following dates:

	Cambrian Point - 7th/10th/11th/14th/17th/18th Sept 2011 from 10.00am until 4.00pm.  We will be outside the reception area.
	Senghenydd Hall, Senghenyyd Court, Gordon Hall and the student village house - we will be based in the laundry room just behind the reception desk in Senghenyyd Court - 21st September 2011 until 28th September 2011 from 10:00am until 4:00pm.
	Roy Jenkins Hall - you will be able to pick up a registration pack from your reception desk, please complete the registration forms and pop into the surgery any week day morning between 8:15 and 9:30.

Our practice has included services which are most pertinent to student welfare and our clinicans are very experienced in dealing with typical student problems such as:

	Sexual Health Advice
	Contraception Services
	Emergancy Contraception
	Smoking cessation
	Alcohol advice
	Dietary advice
	Conselling, Mental Health and advice services
	Travel advice and vaccination
	Immunisations

From time to time we get a lot of requests to provide students with a sick note.  We have had discussions with the university and understand that a sicknote is only required when an exam has been missed or a piece of coursework has not been handed in on time.  This is a specific requirement for marks that go towards your final grade.  Please be aware that if you request a sicknote for the university a charge will apply.

 PLEASE LET US KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IF YOU CHANGE YOUR ADDRESS.  IF WE DO NOT HAVE YOUR CORRECT ADDRESS YOU COULD BE REMOVED FROM OUR PRACTICE LIST AND FIND YOURSELF WITHOUT A DOCTOR WHILST YOUR IN CARDIFF.
